Article “Combined heat and power plant supplies compressed air”

In January 2019, the trade magazine Chemie-Technik approached us and wanted to know more about our CAHS. This resulted in an interesting article in collaboration.

Compressed air generation is one of the most inefficient energy conversion processes in the industry. More than 90 % of the electrical power supplied to the compressor is converted into heat, but it is hardly possible to use it as process heat at such a low temperature level. The article describes the idea and solution development of altAIRnative GmbH from Mühlhausen in Thuringia, how the temperature of the waste heat flow can be increased to almost 100 °C or more without additional energy input. Furthermore, the interested reader learns more about the range of the product portfolio, the funding opportunities and the extremely high economic efficiency of CAHS technology.
